Good Shepherd: More Than Just A Name!

Brooklyn Nguyen is a support teacher at Good Shepherd’s Chicago Ave. campus. She has been ministering with children there for five years. But to Brooklyn, working at Good Shepherd is more than just a job. It is an opportunity! It is an opportunity to be a teacher, to be involved in the learning process of young children, and to make an academic difference in their early lives. It is an opportunity to plant seeds, not just of learning, but of the love and joy of Christ. It is an opportunity to teach and model character, something that seems missing so often in our world today.

You see, to Brooklyn, Good Shepherd is more than the name of our school. It is the name of a Person. It is Jesus’ love that she seeks to display to her students. It is His character that she seeks to model as His representative. Brooklyn is a blessing at Chicago Avenue. And we are blessed to have many more teachers like her, motivated by the love of Jesus and purposeful in the way they shepherd students every day. We want to be good shepherds, too!
