Three Generations!

Good Shepherd has been a long-term presence in the Valley, a testament to the strong sense of community we foster. We recently celebrated our 32nd anniversary, and one of the signs of our thriving community is that we are starting to see three generations at a time on our campuses! Recently, one family had a chance to share why they have been part of our family for so long.

Melissa “Missy” Moody is the Assistant Director at our Waynesboro campus and has been ministering with us for almost 20 years. All that time ago, she joined our staff after witnessing the environment her child, Kaitlyn, was experiencing daily at daycare. Now, almost two decades later, Kaitlyn is the head teacher in our Explorer 2 class, where she enjoys working alongside her mom and seeing her two children at school.

Both Missy and Kaitlyn describe the familial essence of Good Shepherd. They also talk about the Christian foundation that they prize for their children. As mothers and grandmothers, they get to see these values instilled in their children and grandchildren, and in many others, daily. By creating a safe environment filled with love and support, they have impacted many young lives. Missy highlighted it best - “I do feel like Good Shepherd prepares children well for the adult world. How to have the confidence to be a productive citizen, and then to raise families in that same way.” At Good Shepherd School and Daycare, we aim to do just that.
